Been a very interesting two days

Last night at Singers the DJ and I drank a toast to Bo Diddley before the bar got busy. It got so busy last night, they actually opened both sides of the building, very rare on a Wednesday. Even rarer, somebody besides me sang Red House by Jimi Hendrix. I ended up with Superstition by Stevie Wonder, which I almost never do anymore. At least I did a reasonably good job last night with all my songs, which is all I really care about anyways. The DJ keeps encouraging me whenever I'm there to sing the blues, he says the younger kids need to be educated about the roots of today's music. I couldn't agree more, which is why I spend my sapre time learning new songs and practicing my harmonica.

Today at the library I was approached by the very same girl who had caused me to stop doing volunteer work with the kids at our local library. She was being followed by a half dozen boys and it was both freaking her out and pissing her off. She seemed to have decided that she would rather have me as an ally then just a neutral party. I escorted her as far the end of library property as we made peace with each other.

We both were laughing at the look on the faces of the boys when they saw that she was being protected from them by a the "freak who reads all those religious books". Sometimes having a darker reputation comes in very handy in the security business. Makes doing my job more interesting and sometimes a little easier.

Haha, the freak huh? It's funny how people who like to learn get labelled as that.
