We had a storm while I was at work all night in East Syracuse, and I was sitting in my car unhappy to be sitting in my car next to a VERY long chain link fence near six VERY tall light posts. Yes, I know enough physics to know I was safe in my car, probably, but when deal with the voltage found in lightning, all bets are off as far as I'm concerned.
Anyways, I decided to kill time practicing on my harmonica, and soon found my self jammin' on same nasty old blues riffs with lightning as my stage effects and thunder as my percussion section. If you ever see the scene in "Black Snake Moan" where Samuel L Jackson does a blues number during a storm, you'll get a taste of how powerful that can get.
I've been all over this country, and I've never seen that much lightning in my life. If I could have kept my eyes open, I would have enjoyed it even more, but I was blinded by the almost non stop lightning!
